Cyber security is more than a fad today - it's a real need for every company. Regardless of industry or size, customer data, payment systems or daily business processes need to be protected. It may seem obvious, but practical tips are often lacking - this is where we can help.

We explain the difference between a traditional antivirus and an EDR-class solution (EDR is not a magic solution, but it often improves detection). We show how to set up a firewall in a simple, secure way, and why backup is not an option: a copy on an external drive plus a backup in the cloud (such as S3 or a network drive) is a reasonable minimum set.

We also touch on mundane but important topics - VPNs for remote teams, when it pays to implement two-factor authentication, and practical ways to store passwords (a password manager instead of a notebook or Excel file). It all seems simple, until an incident comes along.

We don't leave out more advanced issues: disk encryption (BitLocker, FileVault), securing communications, monitoring network traffic, security policies for employees and technical aspects of RODO compliance. We discuss this with a view to implementation in a small or medium-sized company - practically and realistically.
